Microvacuum Cassettes for Surface Sampling
Efficient Collection of Asbestos or Fungal Spores

  • Nozzle for easy sampling on irregular surfaces/carpeting

  • Collect fungal spores and contaminants in settled dust using a high flow pump
Collect fungal spores or asbestos from carpets and other dusty areas using SKC Microvacuum Cassettes and a high flow pump such as the SKC QuickTake 30. SKC Microvacuum Cassettes are available with an MCE or polycarbonate filter and feature a microvacuum nozzle for sampling of settled dust on surfaces as specified in ASTM D5755 and D5756. Data Interpretation: Fungal Spores on Surfaces

Guidelines for Microvacuum Samples from Carpet

  • Normal/Clean: < 5000 CFU/1000 cm2 or < 50,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being outdoor species

  • Borderline: 25,000 CFU/1000 cm2 or 200,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being outdoor species

  • Elevated: 75,000 CFU/1000 cm2 or 1,000,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being outdoor and indoor species

  • Fungal Infested: > 75,000 CFU/1000 cm2 or > 1,000,000 CFU/gram with dominant fungi being indicator and outdoor species
