PowerFlex® Chargers use reflex charging technology that delivers charging pulses of current in between short reverse pulses that slightly discharge the battery. PowerFlex Chargers use pump-specific cables to charge sample pumps and are ideal for use with NiMH and NiCad batteries. Use PowerFlex Chargers to charge up to four different SKC pump models simultaneously.

One Charger Does It All!
Only the advanced PowerFlex battery charging system can provide flexibility for your fleet of SKC personal air sampling pumps. PowerFlex can be used with most SKC personal sample pumps that contain a NiCad or NiMH battery. One PowerFlex can take the place of multiple chargers because it is not a pump specific charger. Instead, PowerFlex uses pump-specific cables to communicate with multiple pump models. Simply select the pump-specific cables you need (available separately). For the ultimate in timesavings and convenience, use the five-station PowerFlex to charge different SKC pump models simultaneously.

The PowerFlex Advantage

Advanced Reflex Charging Technology: SKC PowerFlex is an advanced battery charging system designed for optimal charging and performance of the nickel-cadmium (NiCad) and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries used in SKC personal sample pumps. PowerFlex applies short reverse (discharge) pulses in between charge pulses to ease the battery into a full charge and to keep temperature and pressure build-up inside the battery to a minimum. PowerFlex detects full charge before the battery starts into overcharge and switches immediately to a pulse trickle charge. Reflex charging minimizes battery damage and maximizes battery life.

Simply store your PowerFlex and cables in one small carry case, pack your pumps, and go; no multiple chargers needed, only one AC outlet required. Economical cables are available separately so you only order the cables that you need. Not suitable for EX and ATEX pump models.

About PowerFlex Technology
Charging NiCad/NiMH batteries is generally accomplished by applying constant current to the battery. Toward the end of the charge cycle, battery voltage rises at an increasing rate, tapers, and finally becomes negative. Most chargers sense this voltage depression and either turn off or switch to a trickle charge.


SKC PowerFlex Chargers use a patented reflex charging technology that delivers pulses of current instead of constant current. In between pulses, PowerFlex applies short reverse pulses that discharge the battery slightly. This eases the battery into a full, uniform charge and prevents dramatic increases in internal temperature and pressure that can damage the battery and shorten its life. To prevent overcharging, PowerFlex continuously monitors the charging voltage curve to find the inflection point, then it quickly and automatically switches to a safe pulsing-type trickle charge upon full charge.
