PTFE Filters, 2.0 µm, 37 mm
PTFE Filters, 2.0 µm, 37 mm Overview
PTFE Filter with PMP support ring, 2.0 µm, 37 mm, no support pad included, pk/50
Applications
PTFE filters are the versatile choice for size-selective samplers. The material’s unique properties make it ideal for gravimetric, chemical, and/or microscopic analysis of sample particulate. In addition, PTFE filters are used for aerosol sampling, air venting, and gas filtration. Some specific applications and recommended PTFE filters include:
Sampling for Particulate Matter (PM):
PTFE filters with a PMP support ring are used in PM samplers such as the SKC Personal Modular Impactor (PMI), the Sioutas Impactor, the IMPACT Sampler, the Personal Environmental Monitor (PEM), and the Button Sampler. These filters offer low back pressure that allows longer sampling periods at higher flow rates to enhance sensitivity. See Ordering Information for PTFE filters Cat. Nos. 225-1709, 225-1747, and 225-1711.
Sampling for Metalworking Fluids (NIOSH Method 5524):
A PTFE filter with a 2.0-µm pore size may be used with SKC’s reusable thoracic Parallel Particle Impactor (PPI) to sample thoracic particulate according to NIOSH 5524 for metalworking fluids. More information is available in this PDF. See ordering information for Cat. No. 225-37-07.
Sampling for Viruses and Other Bioaerosols
SKC PTFE Filter Cat. Nos. 225- 1722 comprises laminated spun-bound polyester with a nominal pore size of 0.3 µm that is specifically designed for sampling viruses and other bioaerosols. The filter is also available preloaded with cellulose support as Cat. No. 225-1723.
