Rotameter, 1 to 13 L/min Overview

Standard Rotameter 1 to 13 L/min, Accuracy ±2.5%, full scale-VDI/VDE Standard 3513-2/2:2008 (Calibrated at 68 F (20 C) and 1 atmosphere), includes steel base plate/stand, NIST certificate available upon request.

Standard Rotameters are float-type rotameters for measuring pump flow rates. With their easy-to-read 100-mm scale, SKC Standard Rotameters are easy to use, lightweight, rugged, portable, and feature a steel base plate/stand. SKC Standard Rotameters are available in different flow ranges to cover a wide range of air sampling applications. A NIST certificate is available upon request.

About Rotameters
A rotameter is a device that measures the flow rate of liquid or gas in a closed tube. Rotameters are secondary calibration standards used to obtain accurate, reliable measurements of pump airflow rates if calibrated to a primary calibration standard on a regular basis.

Red Triangle The ball-type flowmeters and rotameters built into most air sampling pumps are intended to serve as flow indicators and are, therefore, of low accuracy. These flowmeters, as well as rotameters, must be calibrated against a primary standard to verify accuracy. Red Triangle When using a rotameter at a different temperature and pressure than where it was calibrated to a primary standard, the following formula can be used to calculate the flow rate:

Calibration formula
Q2 = Equivalent flow rate in L/min or ml/min at calibration location
Q1 = Measured flow rate in L/min or ml/min
P1 = Pressure in mm Hg at sampling location
P2 = Pressure in mm Hg at calibration location
T1 = Temperature in degrees Kelvin (degrees Celsius + 273) at sampling location
T2 = Temperature in degrees Kelvin (degrees Celsius + 273) at calibration location
